Generator’s rapid prototyping in Burlington, VT includes the use of laser cutters, 3d printers, a vinyl cutter, and a 4-axis mill — all for current and aspiring product designers and inventors, as well as crafters and hobbyists.

Generator members can access all rapid prototyping equipment to design and make everything from game pieces to robotic components, greeting cards to hardware, and so much more!

Gain Access

1. Get certified

Generator members need to go through one of Generator’s safety trainings and/or classes before gaining access to our facility.

We suggest getting trained before becoming a member so that once you join, you can get right to work (instead of joining and then waiting for your desired tool trainings to come up on our calendar).

Those with previous experience may be eligible for an Experienced User Assessment.

Get Certified

2. Become a Generator member

As a Generator member who is certified to use our different rapid prototyping equipment, you’ll be able to access the space and equipment during Generator’s open hours (except for certain holidays and during Generator’s class times, marked on a shared calendar).

Generator’s Volunteer Shop Leads help maintain equipment, improve the workshop’s layout, support beginner members in their projects, and are generally spreaders-of-good-vibes! They’re friendly and knowledgable — introduce yourself!
