Advanced Manufacturing Day – Can We Make It?

VMEC and Generator Makerspace are working together to host an exciting event on Thursday, October 10th from 3-6pm focused on careers in manufacturing, and inspiring the future manufacturing workforce.

This event will include multiple networking opportunities, facility tours, co-working space demonstrations, and a panel discussion and Q&A with VT-based manufacturing leaders where they will share their knowledge and experience in the advanced manufacturing world.

In addition to speaking about their Advanced Manufacturing journey as a strategic and competitive advantage, our panel will address topics such as adapting to the rapid pace of technological change, partnering and collaborating across organizations, hiring and upskilling their current workforce and more.

During this event we’ll also hear from Tinotenda Rutanhira, Executive Director, Business Development and Co-Founder, VT-Professionals of Color Network (VTPOC), who will offer a brief overview of their new program, Newcomer Nexus.

Additionally, there will be a resource area for all attendees. So, be sure to bring your hard copy collateral materials promoting open positions you’re currently hiring for and/or company-specific brochures or flyers focused on your products/ services.

If you’ve not been to Generator before, this event is the perfect opportunity to check out one of New England’s premier makerspaces in action! Both the tour and demonstrations will highlight Generator as an artist studio, classroom, and business incubator. Their workshop spaces include wood, metal, rapid prototyping, jewelry, sewing and electronics.

A cash bar and small bites will be available on-site.
