BIPOC Scholarship
To support Vermont’s BIPOC makers and to address the systemic racism and discriminatory policies that have resulted in people of color facing greater obstacles to advancing in the fields of art, science, technology, and entrepreneurship, Generator provides makerspace access and technical education to Vermont’s Black, Indigenous, people of color by offering this BIPOC Scholarship Program.
Each year, Generator gives out $10,000 in makerspace access and technical education to our Vermont Black, Indigenous, and People of Color Community through our BIPOC Scholarship program.
Scholarship recipients receive:
- 6 Months of free membership at Generator
- A $400 tool training credit to be applied towards learning new skills
Who Can Apply
The Scholarship is open to members of the BIPOC community that are at least 18 years of age.
Scholarship applications will be reviewed and rated based on three qualifications: skills and experience, project readiness, and need.
If your creative, academic, or professional pursuits can be bolstered with training and access to laser cutters, 3D printers, wood shop & metal shop tools, a jewelry studio, sewing studio, graphic design and 3D design software — this scholarship may be for you!
The next scholarship period is August 1-January 31
Note: recipients will be able to start utilizing their tool training credit on July 1st, one month before the start of the 6 month membership period.
Applications will be accepted between Wednesday, May 1 thru 11:45pm on Saturday, June 1.
