Please join us in welcoming Eric Roy as Generator’s new Membership & Volunteer Coordinator!

Eric brings over two decades of design, project management, and creative consulting experience to Generator’s staff team. While he focused on 2D Print Design and Photography in school, Eric went deep into rapid prototyping and fabrication when he became a Generator member in 2015. He’s been an active part of Generator’s community ever since, serving as an instructor, mentor, volunteer, and tool technician, all while being an engaged and collaborative member supporting and spearheading projects all over the spectrum, from art installations, to new businesses, to innovative inventions.

Eric comes to Generator from St. Michael’s College where he managed the college’s makerspace.  During his time directing the program, Eric had the opportunity to collaborate on a number of service learning projects focused on adaptive technology.  This led him to coin the catch phrase, “If you have the ability to make almost anything; mayhaps you should start by making a difference.”

Generator staff is thrilled that Eric is joining the team. In addition to being a systems thinker and incredibly skilled in Generator’s foundational tools and technology, Eric brings warmth, collaborative energy, and unbridled passion for helping people bring their ideas to life.

“As a longtime maker and member of Generator’s community, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join the organization in a more formal capacity,” Eric said, “My role in helping launch and then directing the SMC MakerSpace wouldn’t have been possible without my fellow Generator members skillsharing and investing in me over the years. I look forward to reciprocating this investment by supporting and growing Generator’s vibrant community of makers, artists, and entrepreneurs.”

Moving forward, please connect with Eric about all of your membership and volunteer-related needs by emailing him at [email protected].
