Generator’s Workshops are open to the general public, and typically focus on developing skills or making a specific item. Unless noted, participants do not need to have prior training or experience.
Workshops are different from our Tool Trainings, in that they typically do not certify a member to access a tool or shop. To learn more about tool certifications please visit our Tool & Shop Certifications Page.
Share Your Skills
Do you have a skill, craft, or passion you’d love to teach? We’d love to hear from you!
Fill out the short form below and let us know what you’d be interested in teaching. This isn’t a commitment—just the beginning of a conversation. Whether your idea is fully formed or in early development, we’ll work with you to get it where it needs to be. First-time instructors are always welcome, and we look forward to supporting you and helping you share your knowledge.
Once you submit the form below, our Program Coordinator, Jake Ducharme, will reach out via email to discuss next steps.

“Teaching classes at Generator is a breeze. I recently finished teaching a three-part series, and the experience immediately made me want to bring a whole spread of other classes to Generator. Having a range of facilities made it easy to figure out exactly when and where I’d be able to make the idea work. The team was extremely helpful and supportive from concept to completion, and have been instrumental in helping me dream up new offerings.”
– Bjorn Peterson, Instructor: Reuse! A Furniture Upcycling Mini-Series

“I am so grateful to the generator team for allowing me to pop up and host workshops in their space! The planning process is really collaborative and supportive, and they do an awesome job helping to promote the events!”
– Katie Cameron, Cry Baby Clay, Instructor: Play With Clay: Make a Slab Built Mug
Below is information about how we’ve shaped our workshops in the past. Please know that your workshop does not need to fit into these buckets, and that we are always willing to trying something new.

Your suggestions help us create workshops that matter. We can’t promise we’ll be able to offer everything, but we read every submission and will do our best to find instructors who can teach what you want to learn.
