Below are a few example projects to consider for your retreat. If you have ideas of your own, let us know and we’ll work with you to design and deliver a custom program. Laser Engraved Cutting Boards
Woodn’t it be cool to make a customized laser engraved cutting board? During this session, attendees will have the opportunity to use basic woodworking hand-tools, create designs on Adobe Illustrator, and our laser engraver to create custom cutting boards. A popular activity and a great intro to a timeless woodworking project
Custom Wine & Gift Boxes
A hammer, some glue, a laser, and a positive attitude is all you’ll need for this hands on build! Participants in this session will get an introductory woodworking and rapid prototyping experience at Generator, assembling and creating a customized design for a wine or gift box. Hammer away!
Design Your Own Shirts
Have you ever told yourself or heard from someone “That needs to be on a t-shirt”? Here’s your opportunity! Come through Generator and learn how to design on Adobe Illustrator and create a custom design with our vinyl cutter and t-shirt press.
Wooden Car Race
A tip-of-the-hat to a classic, introductory woodworking project. Participants will get the opportunity to use basic woodworking tools to design and build a small pinewood car! Whether you’re building and competing for speed or competing for aesthetic appeal, this is a fun activity that gets folks into a creative and hands-on activity.
Laser Engraved Clocks
It will be hour problem the second you make a time pun. A cool project that marries classic wood working and rapid prototyping. Come through Generator and make a custom desk clock! Create your own design with Adobe Illustrator, laser engrave that onto some wood, sand, glue, assemble, finish, and then admire what you’ve made! No wood working or design experience required, we’ll happily guide you and your team through this timeless activity (last time pun, we swear!)
Jewelry & Metalsmithing
Basic metal-smithing is right around the corner. This retreat opportunity at Generator gets folks into our jewelry studio. Participants will get the chance to learn and work with basic metal smithing tools to design and fabricate a pendent, a charm, a dog-tag, or ornament out of copper or brass. Come and make something shiny!
