We’re thrilled to offer summer camps for curious kids who love making and creating with their own two hands. The camps are open to any youth ages 9 to 12 and instructed by experienced educators who are ready to support campers as they gain the skills to pull of some amazing creations! All camps will follow the State of Vermont’s COVID protocols.

Circuits, Coding and Robot Fun

7/19/21 to 7/23/21 9am-3pm

$325 (includes materials)

Limit: 12 Campers

Come explore what makes a robot work – from simple circuits to microprocessor coding. Our camp will be a fun filled five days of hands-on exploring and creating, as well as outdoor team-building activities for some fresh-air screen breaks and assure we are not just great creators but kind and collaborative as well. Whether a budding engineer or just curious about how things work, we all will have a great time learning to make things light up, be noisy and move through the magic of electricity and coding. The fee includes a programmable Edison robot that will go home with students after the camp. It is a great platform for continued learning using a free online site for both scratch and python programming.

Limit: 6 Campers

Back by popular demand, come, create, and design your own projects on a laser machine. This summer camp includes hands on experience with Adobe Illustrator that then translates to our powerful laser machines! Adobe Illustrator is a design program that is also ideal for creating vector graphics for laser cutting, vinyl cutting, and design. You will leave with a strong foundation of skills along with learning many “shortcuts” in the program. This camp also includes projects cut on the laser machine with wood, cardboard or acrylic as well as posters, photos and more. Students will learn the safety and basic operations of the machine as well as what materials to use. After feeling confident on the laser cutter and materials, you will create your own final project with the help of the instructor. Create personalized wooden boxes, etched portraits and more.

What would you put into a book filled with colorful papers, pockets, secret compartments, or pages that fold, twist, or pop open in surprising ways? If you enjoy playing with paper, doodling, writing, sewing, or painting, this camp is for you! We’ll be making a variety of different books, with hard and soft covers, using a mix of binding and stitching techniques. Additionally, you’ll learn how to add light to your illustrations (by adding a paper circuit) and how to ecoprint paper (using leaves and flowers). We’ll spend part of the first day decorating paper for future projects with paint, paste, and colored bubbles. You’ll leave camp with several completed books and the skills to make many more.
