Generator’s Digital Modeling & Fabrication program (DMF) is a five-week, immersive program where students explore tools, techniques, and software associated with manufacturing processes. Done primarily through CNC machinery, this program is designed for students to make hands-on projects, while also gaining insights on manufacturing workplace skills, such as tool safety, CAM software, reading blueprints, and measurements.
Over the five weeks, students are introduced: Vector & Logo Design, Laser Cutter Operation, CNC Operation and tool types, G-Code, 3-D Modeling and other concepts. Along the way students are encouraged to fail and to treat each failure as an opportunity for growth. As the program progresses students are asked to complete more complex projects, progress to usage of equipment at a higher caliber, and demonstrate their evidence of learning throughout the program.
